Just looking at options at the moment.

I have found an S2 Exige S, it's got 220bhp. I was wondering what are the upgrades & costs associated with getting it to 240, or even 260bhp?? You do seem to find several variants out there & i really don't know what's what.

Cheers in advance ( & apologies, i'm a bit of a Lotus numpty, although keen to learn ) biggrin

Christopher Neils will do an upgrade that gives around 250bhp for £2K. If you spent a further £500 on a good intercooler they tell me it gives up to 270. All Lotus parts and main dealer fitted. It was on the website but I can't see it now so you'd probably have to ring them.

There doesn't seem to be much logic to the 220 or 240 variants. Anyone got any info??

240 has some subtle changes e.g. think roof scoop goes the whole lenght of roof etc.

Probably better going on condition of the car etc / try, drive and buy! smile

If you're going to use in "damp" conditions, get one with traction control. Learn a lesson from someone else. getmecoat

Gotham tune from Sinclairs takes it upto about 240 doesn't it?

Don't push it to far if you do upgrade. The C64 gearbox is made of cheese and lunches itself at about 190lbft torque or something like that. If you want stupid power upgrade the box to a E153 costs about 2K all in.

heart-breaking (write off) but I'm coming out the other side now 4 weeks later.

It was an option (it may have come with the performance pack or something)

Easy to spot if you know what you're looking for. There's a little black button on the SIDE of the gear lever shroud. (the one on top is for central locking if I recall correctly)
