Speakers for S1

Can anyone recommend any brand of speakers to replace the standard (Alpine?) speakers in the S1 Elise? I've just changed the head unit but the original speakers are starting to crackle a bit and I'm sure there must be a better all-round speaker available. Any problems with space etc?

You will find there is a problem with depth. The only good quality 6.5" (IIRC) speakers I could find that would fit the depth are made by Infinty. Can't remember the exact model number but you should be able to find them easily enough.

They only just fitted depth-wise so I mounted them through the grill rings of the alpine speakers I took out. I also sprayed the inside of the enclosure with sound deadening stuff. Sounds much better, but still pretty inaudable when the car is at full chat!

Thanks, I'll look them up. Not expecting them to make a huge difference - it's bad enough in the standard car but with the 160 upgrade mine's got and sport exhaust It'll be pretty useless! Mind you the car makes a better tune itself.
