Since moving to London I really don't need a car, but can afford one and it's nice to have an Elise lurking in the garage for the warm weekends and the very occasional trip back to see the folks up North...
Over the last few weeks I've developed an overwhelming urge to swap for a 340R. I've sat in one but never looked at it with a serious view to buying one before. I just had a couple of questions...
Does it have any sort of boot or storage space for stuff?
Do they all have 190bhp?
Should I buy one today?

No Storage Space apart from the main cabin
The 190 was an extra upgrade, many cars have had it done.
Go for it, I am just about to do the same!!

PS There is a nice standard 340R at B&C at the moment. They offer3ed it to me for £22,000 including service and cambelt, battery change

They have had 3 in in the past 6 momths or so.
The one that they have got now is a totally standard car with about 5,500 Miles and is up for 23,000 but they dropped to 22,000 easily.
I bought my first Lotus from them and they do prepare them very well, the one I bought was 3 years old, but when they delivered it was like new.
I have been looking around at prices and I think the B&C car is good value considering all the work they will do to it.
Have a look at the 304R group on yahoo

go for it buddy!!!!
have had my 340r for 2 months or so, and is awesome as a toy. can be a bit frustrating now and then, but that is as i don't have a plug to trickle charge the battery from, apart from that, i found a very well loved model with 190bhp (tuned to a little over 200) and the titanium exhaust. these are no longer made, so if you can get one already with it (and the ultra close gearbox), worth the extra look.
any q's, send me an email.
also check out www.340r.net very useful.

I have got mine private, the owner happened to live not far from me.
It is a totally standard 340R with Tourneau cover, battery charger and Alarm Upgrade.
It has done 1900 Miles and has a full main dealer service history.
The ECU and Mudguards have been done.
I know from just speaking to the present owner the car has been treated very well.
So that is the good stuff.
Right, with Lotus new cam belt change scheme all 340Rs will require the cambelt to be changed this year.
So the car I am buying will need the 'C' service tax and MOT in June.
I paid just over £20K and I am very happy with that.

I still really want!! Went along to Wilsons on Sunday (only a 20 min drive) to find it closed
I'm a little short of time to go shopping, and the monsoon that I was running in a few minutes ago is enough to put anybody off an Elise, let alone a 340R!!
Ideally I'd like one with 190bhp and I don't want to have to spend much extra cash on top of my part ex allowance on my 111S (somewhere under £25k would be nice).
Hope to go shopping again next weekend (if it's sunny) - please let me know what it's like to drive - I haven't been out in one yet!
