Clarckson's shoot out!

Was out having a mooch round the shops yesterday when in the bargin bin i spotted Clarckson's shoot out. On turning it over i noticed he was to pit the VX220 Turbo against the Elise and the TVR T350. Being a lotus lover i delved into my pocket and shelled out the money to buy this DVD in the hope of some serious Elise sideways action, and also to see what he though of the VX.

When watching the DVD to my horror i found the Lotus only made an apperance once for about 30seconds. He then proceeded to slate the Elise and kiss Vauxhalls ar*e!

I thought the Elise wiped the floor with the VX when it comes to handleing and in most areas everything! Am I mistaken or does Clarckson have a problem with Lotus or is the VX just that much a better car?

I enjoy watching him, but do not respect his opinions.

drag did u watch top gear last season? if u did i remember seeing something where clarckson slated the elise coz he couldnt get it to go sideways no matter how hard he tryed. and if my memory serves me right lotus wrote to the big tool and told him the car was perfectly ballanced and it was his driving that was bad! if this has had any implications on his DVD im not sure. he is still a tosser and El beast still rules the road!

I brought an Elise because i had watched Mr tools DVD and to be quite honest thought that the VX220T looked dangerous, or was it just his c#ap driving.
There was other things like the 28k asking price for the VX also the lead baloon depression, and no AIR CONDITIONING !!!!!!!!!!

Clarkson can't drive for shit. He does admit that, but then goes on to complain about cars dynamics =/

I think the Clarkson shoot out DVD is pretty good, but gotta say I was well dissappointed bout how long the Elise was on for aswell! I thought I must have missed a bit of it, or maybe I just blinked

Nah for Clarkson I don't doubt its a better car. His wife prefers the Elise though

Come to the conclusion of
a) Clarckson is a tool and cant drive for shit!
b) want an S2 even more after watching the sideways god from Lotus!
c) the VX looks like a lego car (girlfriend noticed and she is quite right)
d) couldnt live with FWD
e) who needs air con when u can remove the top!

I'm getting better at getting it there and back. Its holding it for a nice long duration slide that I'm still working on. Bogie you should come on one of the drift days, it does wonders for your limit control.

I did actually see that!

I remember one of our very own members, (i believe it was DanH) gave him a bit of a pasting once. That made me chuckle!

So, I went to buy this Lotus Elise wi' me money in me pocket all rearin't go like. And a thinks to meself, I'll just stop along the way, cos it's on m'journey anyroads and try out this 'ere VXT thing.

So, I tried out the VXT and a Lotus 160 bhp. No contest. Kept me money in me pocket and I'm waiting for VXT second hand values to drop below twenty grand and then a'm avin' one.
