Mornin Gents

Last night while waiting for some traffic lights steam started to come out of the bonet of my S2. It's never done that before should I be worried and is there anything I should check? The temp gage was reading 90 at the time. as soon as I started to drive again it was fine.

Happens to the best of us.... water condesing on the rad mate. I think it looks quite cool actually

A number of people have posted on here before about the same situation at traffic lights where pedestrians have run over yelling "your car's on fire mate".

Unless its a hole in your rad, and it is about to blow up If your temp gauge is reading ok though I wouldn't panic.

AHhhhhhhh please no.
the temp is normaly around 88 - 89 when I'm bombing about and goes up to low - mid 90's when I'm stationary which I think is normal.

Cheers for the info

One thing I also noticed when checking the oil a coule of days ago is that the coolant looks low. the book says it shouldnt ever need to be topped up. is it normal to be close to the low line.

Yup - mine settles just below the min line - if I ever top up above, it will settle on or just below min within a couple of hours - no idea where the water goes mind!!

Through your head gasket if my experience of missing coolant was anything to go by.

Sorry.
