Firstly, hello to all, and thanks for any future advice from you all.

I am looking for someone who can service my (pick up on friday ;-)) s2 sports tourer. It is due its 24 month service...

A local dealership quoted me £310 A service including brake fluid change.

From what I have read on the other threads this seems to be way over the top. Any help and suggestions would be gratefully recieved.

I am looking for a smaller independant really as most people seem to recommend these more.

Thanks

Zak

It's a bit of a drive but you could try Mile @ Fibreglass Services in Arundel for a quote.

He's excellent (3rd time I've recommended him this week!).

Word up fish,

Westover just quoted me £350 for a B so that sounds a lot for an A.

It will be my first service with them but my mate with a chim reckons that they are ok.

My service is Monday so Ill let you know wether they are value for money etc.

Yep, I've just booked mine in for it's B service £360 inclusive at Chris Neils.

They did the A service last year around £200 IIRC.

I bought my 111S from Westover. They are a very good outfit. Always get a courtesy car, your car is always returned spic'n'span. In relation to the A service it is circa £260, if you don't have the brake fluid change, then around £300 if you do. If you've had a fluid change within the last 12 months, then a 'B' service is £350. It all depends on the mileage you do, as to which service the fluid change is done at.

Incidently, I called Sportmotive (Ex-Haydon Cars) in Salisbury re: cost of a B service. £350 + VAT! More than Westover who are franchised! There are however a very good outfit. I bought my first S1 Elise from them, before they lost their franchise, for reasons many PHers will know about. Ahem, cough!

I've just called sportomotive for my B service.. they quoted 350 - but....

change the oil and sparkplugs yourself:
Oil & Filter - Halfords ( £25 )
Champion Plugs from Geary ( 22.95 +pp )

couple of hours on a sunny saturday spent messing - and you get the quote down to 250.

Easy

Tom - hear what you say, but if you are going to purchase the key service items yourself, and do them yourself, then £250 for a rubber stamp is pretty extortionate!

Yeah - I know what you are saying, but when it comes down to it - a second opinion on the checks is good cos I wouldn't trust myself....

Theres the Lotus Scanner and Emmissions test.

And then - that little stamp is probably worth the rest in terms of the cars service history - without it the depreciation would probably be greater....

( though I would only trade in for a 111R :-)) )
