Can anyone advise me how I can get a copy of the Speed 6 software.

I'd reccomend Graham Varley's Speed 6 software here - scroll down to clicky:

I believe this is the latest version.

It should run on XP/Vista/7 (and 8) as long as you use XP compatibility mode on a 32 bit machine.

Unfortunately I stupidly upgraded my old 32 bit Vista machine to 64 bit Windows 7, and the software no longer works!

Need to track down a 32 bit working XP iso!

Try using a virtualbox image or VM Ware and set the hardware to a 32b chipset,
