Anyone know if valve shims are off another make of car? Or what the diameter of them are? I also read somewhere that slightly larger diameter shims have been used before to spread the load ? Thanks

The shims are 10mm, you can buy them in a kit. It's distributed by Prox. They're designed for bikes, which typically run higher spring pressures due to the higher rpm'a they run.

There's been plenty of debate lately. Do a search as there's a lot of "claims" out there.

I've been using the shim kit in mine for a few years. I'm not recommending it as I know there have been warnings put out by people I'd trust, but I've only had one shim collapse in the years I've had the car and it wasn't one from the kit...

Do you think that was due to excessive clearance Marcuss or defect with the shim.

I'm pretty sure it was a dodgy shim as it didn't move after I replaced it with a lesser quality one from the kit. smile
