Hi

I'm looking for a new satnav and have been impressed by the interface on the Tomtom. However, some googling seems to suggest that the newer ones can't accept itinerary files or SD cards.

As a result I'm looking at these 2 models and wondering which one to go for. Might be going for a US road trip next year and buying maps seems to be cheaper if you get them with the device. The other question I have is whether they can be plugged in to the cigar lighter without having to use the windscreen mount? Most of the time I'm happy to stick it into the cubby hole in the dash and just listen to the voice commands.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

I'm not sure how different the 750 is to the 740 (which I have..) but I have to say mine is a huge dissapointment to me. I bought it as I thought it should be fairly good for what it costs, but really its hardly any better than my sub £100 Harman Kardon thing, and that is truly awful! Problems encountered so far are constant rebooting (at least 3 or 4 times a day) problems bluetoothing with my phone for hands free(i've had 3 handsets and none of them work satisfactorily with it) when it does connect often people cant hear me or vice versa, clunky graphics, the traffic thing is a complete waste of time and probs some other stuff i cant remeber.. Oh and you cant plug a normal charger into it
