Garmin Nuvi Itinerary/route planning

Hi,

I'm coming from an iPhone TomTom device and after the aweful customer service experience with Apple and TomTom, I've decided to buy a dedicated SatNav. My iPhone TomTom didn't allow you to plan a route just use the algrithm.

Does anyone know if you can plan routes on a PC and then upload them to a Garmin SatNav?
Might be a stupid question, but never used a dedicated SatNav before.

It's not a stupid question and it's a good thing that you asked before buying.

If you want to plan on the PC and then upload, you will need to make sure that the device supports that capability; not all Garmin models do.

You can find out whether the one you are interested in is suitable by looking on the Garmin website and checking the device specs for "Routes". If the number is 0, the capability is not supported.
