Anybody bought anything from these bods..?
Price is very low.
Website looks good, but contact is by email or mobile phone number and address has been withheld from whois? listing, stated to be a non-trading individual.
I smell a rat, unless you know otherwise..

I wouldn't give it the time of day. Why?
Aside of looking like a 20 quid drop ship operation, they:
a) don't appear to be a registered company
b) don't have an address prominently displayed (naughty naughty)
c) use a mobile phone as their business number (ffs it costs a tenner for a skype number)
d) hide their whois details using non-trading individual status as per:
Domain name:
mynewgps.co.uk
Registrant:
mynewgps
Registrant type:
UK Individual
Registrant's address:
The registrant is a non-trading individual who has opted to have their
address omitted from the WHOIS service.
Registrar:
Fasthosts Internet Ltd [Tag = LIVEDOMAINS]
URL: http://www.fasthosts.co.uk
Legitimate business or not, I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them, especially when newbies come along out of the blue and praise their amazing service etc, posting solely about sat-navs.

I though new legislation was brought in so that all websites (of companies/traders) had to clearly display their company information (registered address, contact details, etc.).
If they don't, I won't buy from them.
They also claim that they have the right to charge a restocking fee if you change your mind, which is in clear breach of the distance selling laws.

If there's a bona fide, honest company behind that website, and not just some kid trading from his mum's spare bedroom / dropshipping, I'll eat my face with chopsticks. You're totally right on all counts BTW.If they don't, I won't buy from them.

Has the website changed since yesterday? Address of commercial premises clearly displayed, wide range of merchandise, looks most unlike a front room operation to me.
Certainly has.http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cac...

Aye, comes up lovely on Google street view...
Just to add to this thread, I rang the storage company that this company supposedly have units, (Supremeself storage), at and they've never heard of 'mynewgps.co.uk'!!! In fact one of the units listed as their address is one of the storage companies units, the others are empty. The chap had had several phone calls asking similar questions!!! (On my credit card my payment, (yes, I fell for it), was listed as 'Trade Electronics, London')

Yes!! Surprised to say I sent email to cancel order cos I smelt a rat and was told it had already been dispatched, (!), and received the sat nav (Garmin nuvi1310) the next day. It seems OK but I'm pretty sure its a refurb as its in a plain blue and white box and seems not to look brand new?? Works OK though, touch wood. I would still steer clear tho'. (He also sent an email apologising for delay and said there had been a bereavment in the family, and is sending a carry case as a free gift!!?)
