I'm looking to replace my old TomTom and just wanted some advice on what to replace it with. Ideally i'd like something that i can plan routes on Google Maps, then import into the Satnav and follow them, rather than just doing from A to B.

Thanks

You might want to try one of the new Android phones.

I bought a Samsung Galaxy S II when they were released a couple of months back and I find the bundled navigation software is excellent. I've not used my TomTom since!

I've got an iPhone and TomTom already, but would prefer a stand alone unit.

I've had most sat navs and am using the Garmin 3790 at the moment. Brilliant bit of kit and you can upload your route without problem. It also has the function to display a large speedometer (just tap the speed button on the right!) Very thin and a real glass screen. I also use it on the motorcycle with a ram mount.

Are there any other models that do this too? (custom routes and google maps)
