TomTom air vent mount

Does anyone use one of the vent mounts? I'd like to move the unit off the screen and onto the dash to cut down on reflections etc as well as making it easier to use.

I use one for my phone (which is also my TomTom). Best ones are the Brodit range maybe followed by some of the Herbert Richter stuff. The Brodit mounts are not cheap though.

I know, the Brodit ones don't mount onto the 'blades' of the vent. My concern is that the TomTom one may not be strong enough.

Thread resurrection, but this one had the same title as what I was about to post, so...

I need a new mount for my old-ish TomTom GO XL. This is the type of mount that it came with



I'd like a vent mount to fit my BMW 1 series and my Clio 172 but the official TomTom ones appear to be for the newer circular mount types.

Any recommendations or do TomTom do a vent mount for my Sat Nav?

I paid under a fiver on fleabay for a vent holder for my TT One (v3)
Does the job, and clips onto the vents
(have to use specific fins though, otherwise the weight of the gps makes it face too low)

I'll take a look. I'm normally a little reluctant to buy the cheap stuff from ebay because the quality might be a bit suspect.

I've found an 'Arkon' vent mount which looks to be a bit better at just under a tenner so I've ordered that. I saw the cheaper ones and was put off by the cheapness (which you've confirmed thanks)

Well I bit the bullet and bought a proper TomTom one as shown in the picture. Having now done two rallies and a couple of continental trips it was worth the extra cost.

edit: re-read the question and this wouldn't fit - sorry!

Well I bit the bullet and bought a proper TomTom one as shown in the picture. Having now done two rallies and a couple of continental trips it was worth the extra cost.

I'd have bought the proper Tom Tom one if my SatNav was compatible. Maybe I should have just bought a new TomTom

LOL yes - I bought a new one as I heard they were taking away the itn functionality. That's useful for me so picked up an XXL.

Sorry - working in a jargon rich industry I tend to forget sometimes

When doing course car I put all the stage starts into a route as waypoints, it helps if my nav can focus on stage safety rather than simply worrying which way to go.
