Sat Nav with Pedestrian Mode?

Dude, depends on what you'll be doing....
TomTom has walking routes and I've used it extensively on my WinMobile phone, but most of the time I'm searching for a POI I already found researched and starred on my PC, so actually Google Maps is better. Or maybe it isn't.... (testdrive your local TT dealer)
Whereas TT will show you the actual route on the moving map, Google Maps will only give you 2D map, a summary list, no voice prompts, but can search for POIs online and allow you to pre-call them too if you're on a cell.
GM requires data all the time though, however picks up your position much faster since it can do Cell triangulation rather than have to wait for GPS Sats to be located - but within 300m or so error range.... hmmm.
TT is therefore always more accurate and doesn't need Cell Data access, but takes up to 30 secs or more to get GPS fix. In big cities or trekking in deep forest, it'll lose GPS fix though, needs line-of-sight to 3/4 sats at least. Buildings and foliage kill the signal pretty well. Google maps will always find you if you have a cell signal, but maps will suck your data to death, esp. if you want SatPhotos not just roadmaps.
I'd get and have both, one or the other will always get you there. sometimes both together!!!! gotta love Windows Mobile, have done for years.... but iPown can do both too I think.... maybe even Handroid too...
