Sat Nav has got wet and won't work. Will it suvive?

My Tom Tom has been soaked with coffee and won't do anything, is there any chance it will be OK when dry or should I get myself a new one?

Is there anything I can do to aid it's recovery?

The normal trick is to put it in a bag of rice next to the radiator – it’s supposed to take all the liquid out.
Although, coffee might leave some residue.

Try it, there’s nothing to lose.

As it was coffee that got in the works, I'd have rinsed it with distilled water, put it in an airing cupboard for several days surrounded by dessicant or rice as an alternative, and not switched it back on until I was certain it was 100% dry.

It's the switching it on whilst wet that will fry it. If it was turned on when it got a soaking, the damage may already be done, but you've nothing to lose by trying to dry it out before working out whther or not you are going to need to buy a new one..
