Alpine head unit

Got a 2004 CR-V with the optional Alpine Sat Nav head unit - I am having serious grief with the Enter button - whenever I try to program the address in, and press the Enter button, it doesn't work, but instead moves a function associated with the joystick that the button is a part of.

Being these head units are effin expensive, is there anything I can do or try that won't bugger things up more, or do I have to find someone to fix the joystick/enter switch unit that won't cost me a fortune......

If its still under warranty you can send it back to Alpine & they will repair it for free. I sent a head unit of mine back to them, they took just over a week to get it back to me so not bad.
