Roads missing from Garmin after map update

I have updated my 255W Europe, using the lifetime map update service.

However there is so many roads now missing, that were there before, even main roads, motorways and the M25 are not shown. It just shows sparse info.

Is there something I have not done, or how can I recover missing details?

Sounds like you've either updated the wrong region or have a faulty basemap. Try to force another update and make sure you have the right map set selected.

If that doesn't work, there are reports that this happens occasionally and a factory reset cures it.

I have reset to factory setting, re-loaded the Central Europe map 3 times and installed an 8GB memory card to no avail.

Will have to ring their tech-supp, oh joy.

Spoke to them today and I've tried to load a central Euro map instead of a Western Europe on, which has less details than the WE one.

Will upload the correct map and see what happens.
