sat nav to work in the US, Canada and Europe
Discussion
I'm thinking it might be time to upgrade my old steam driven sat nav. I use a Compaq ipaq 2210 palmtop with a compact flash GPS and a 4GB SD card. The software is TomTom Navigator. The ipaq was bought in 2003 and I'm guessing the Navigator SW dates back to 2006 or thereabouts with the map files of a similar vintage. It works reasonably well although does require the odd reset from time to time. I have collected, from various sources, maps of the US and Canada, the UK, Western Europe and Poland which have all served me well. Traffic updates would be a useful feature and I would see them as an almost must-have if I'm going to spend the money to upgrade. The TomTom website is confusing at best as to whether or not they have a system (doesn't matter if I buy it in the US or the UK) that will give traffic updates on both sides of the pound. Or should I just use google maps on my crackberry to get the traffic info and stick with what I have? Any comments or advice appreciated.
