It's not just SatNavs - this is Microsoft Autoroute 2010's idea of the quickest route between Somerset (1) and Thornton (2):



Rather than leaving the M6 at J32 onto the M55 and then the A585, it recommends staying on the M6 to the end, then Gretna Green and across to the Cairnyan to Larne ferry, a night in Larne and then the Larne to Fleetwood ferry, before the final 5 miles...... Which takes about 2 days, 2 ferries and a further 180 miles of driving.

Curious idea of the 'quickest' route!

It's a Garmin. I'm surprised it was that close to getting it right
