I've had a Tom Tom 1 XL Europe for a while now, with a subscription to map updates & speed camamras etc. I've just brought my Dad a Tom Tom XL 2 IQ for xmas, and am setting it up for him. He won't be able to keep any updates or whatever's going, so I want it registered to my pc/email account, seperatly from my unit, but I can't seem to do this by using the same email account - I get to the stage where I enter a different password for his, and everything seems to start from the begining again.
I'm not a techy, but would welcome simplistic instructions how I can get updates etc for his Tom Tom as well as mine, but from the same email account. Am I trying to register this incorrectly or ?.
Many Thanks

I never managed to get 2 devices working with one account. Ended up making another account just for the 2nd/3rd/4th devices instead and forward all emails from those accounts (very similar to the original email address) to my main one.

TomTom will only let you register one device per email address. I don't believe it is even important for the email to exist as they only send you spam (sorry offers wink ) to it. But if worried I would suggest you just create a hotmail/gmail/yahoo address for it. I don't believe there is only issue connecting different devices to TomTom home software

If you need more info - I would suggest trying to search/ask on This forum

Thank people, very helpful, and clears up what is needed. Shame Tom Tom aren't a bit more customer focused ??. Looks like a 2nd email address it is then.

If you are a gmail user, you can do some tricks to make one email address look like multiple addresses, which might suit your situation. Have a look at http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/1-awesome-gmail-tip-y...
