I know it's probably been asked about a million times but the search facility isn't working properly and I've had a look back over the past few pages.

I've been given a TomTom Go Live 820 which I'm pretty happy with so far. However, I do occasionally drive HGVs and wondered if there was any way of setting up this particular flavour of TomTom to take account of this without the expense of a separate 'truckie' sat nav? I would ideally like it to route plan taking into consideation low bridges, weight limits etc but if this isn't possible does anyone know the best place to download these simply as POI? Google seems to throw up loads!

It's worth investing the extra cash in a snooper truckmate much better suited to the job than a Tom Tom.

I know, and given the choice I would have bought one but the TomTom was a gift. Plus, I only really need it for driving larger vehicles maybe a couple of times a month. Just looking to see if I can make the TomTom a little better suited. Thanks anyway.

pocketgpsworld.com has some POIs and probably one of the better sources (it has some Low Bridges POIs but not free by the looks of it) and it is a good source of SatNav information

I suspect if you are doing more than an occasional use in HGV, then it might be painful using it
