GARMIN UPDATE - WARNING!!

Those of you familiar with quarterly 'lifetime' updates for City Navigator NT may wish to note that version 2013.40 is now available.

However, you may find the update process invites you to install a new Garmin tool called 'Garmin Express'. Regrettably, this still has some program bugs (as Garmin have confirmed to me today) and may block the update process (which is what happened to me!).

The way round this, Garmin advise, is to go to http://download.garmin.com/lmu/GarminMapUpdater.ex... , which is the old, familiar map updating system.

Nick - Does Iceland display correctly on your Mapsource or Basecamp? I'm running the latest version of Basecamp and Iceland is all stratched out for some reason with this version.

It's probably as a result of the type of projection used by the map. Grid convergence will distort the map at high latitudes (e.g. Iceland, northern Finland) if lines of longitude are shown as being parallel.

If you zoom in, the effect will be less marked.

Thanks Nick. I had the OSM as well as the free Iceland map from Ourfootprints.de and they show fine is all. I'll load it onto my device and see what happens.
