Best sat nav app has to be waze

Just drove back from Bury st Edmonds to Inverness. Waze gave me a estimated arrival time upon start of the route. Arrived within 3 minutes of that time 500+ miles later.

Really impressed with how it accounts for traffic including the future traffic based on what normally happens. On my way down it was out slightly as it had to detour me due to a accident but can't really blame it, made a change about 30 minutes in advance and told me due to a accident.

Best I've used!

It's quite handy for camera vans as well, not infallible (as really you still need the mk1 eyeball for that) but definitely decent.

Waze is good, but so are:

• Here maps - you can download the map of the UK (and other countries) onto your phone, so you don't need a reliable data connection. Great for holidaying abroad too.

• OSMAnd - Clunky and not yet good for car navigation, but lots of local detail from OpenStreetMap.

Waze has gotten worse recently. Some of its diversions around traffic are mental.

Always seems to put me in traffic as well.

I use google maps. Pretty sure they own Waze so the re routing, arrival times and traffic are all the same.

I circum navigate the country on a weekly basis and it's never once let me down.

Pretty sure Google do now own Waze.

I think recently it's got worse.

Some of the re-routes i'm sent on are bizarre.

Although I still use it daily.

And overall I'm ranked 6246th with 541004 points.

i use google maps, and waze is based on it. i usually pre=plan and choose my route myself.

I swear by Waze.
I've been using it since last February and in 60k+ miles it's not let me down yet.

Fully sold on Waze, and used to be a paid up Tomtom fan. If it's good enough for London uber drivers, its good enough for me. Used for the last 40k with minimal WTFs and a reliable ETA, even if it isn't in my favour

For some of the comments about Waze leading into the traffic: Sometimes the route is still the shortest despite the traffic, and sometimes Waze just cant keep up with the sheer change of micro jams which pop up during rush hour.

I have been a waze user for a couple of years.

It's even saved me 6 points on my licence because some kind user marked a man with a camera just over a blind hill. Of course the more people using it and tagging things like plod, breakdowns etc the better it becomes.

I've found here maps to be good in the UK, but really odd when abroad. When trying to take me to a beer warehouse in Ghent it sent me about 5 times round the town till I gave up and carried on with the journey. On the way back down through Belgium it diverted me off the main route through Antwerp through different tunnels than the main Kennedy tunnel, then down some country route to Bruges. Not due to traffic, this was Sunday evening on quiet roads.

I am a waze Knight now

it has reduced my avg daily commute time in london by 45 mins a day!!

and allowed me to avoid several really bad delays, including an evening when blackheath was shut for 4 hours which a friend got stuck in, i only spent an extra 10 minutes getting home

its saved me from many mobile camera and hidden PoPo as well

I like waze, but does anyone know how to stop it asking if I'm going home everytime i use it in the afternoon? (Other than deleting my home address)

I've always used Google maps, father in law has been swearing by waze for time, just about to download it!

Only recently started using waze and, so far, I'm impressed.

I think the more people use it, the better it will become as it tracks more and more people

The one annoying feature of Waze though is the lack of an overview map view like you get in Google Nav. So I often have both running.
