WAZE newbie question.

I've just downloaded this and for fun tried to navigate to Italian destinations, however it won't give me a route.

Is this because there is a body of water in between here and Italy, and if I cross the water will it work okay from the other side?

Yes, mine is the same. Just tried a route to Rome and it fails to find anything.
It'll be fine from anywhere in mainland Europe.
Or alter your start point to somewhere on the continent.

1000 mile limit on routing at present

Trying to set a mainland Europe destination as the start point still results in a "Uh oh routing server timeout". UK destinations all work OK.
