Season's greetings, I have found a pair of jump leads, one end of each is a male cigarette lighter socket part and the other end on one is a standard alligator clip and on the other a kind of alligator clip that looks like a hair straightener. I can post pics if you need. What are these cables for?

Thanks

Maybe so you can connect up a battery through the lighter socket to keep the radio memory "live" when changing a battery?

You've answered it yourself.

So they work the same as leads which just go battery to battery on both ends?

What is the point of these ones then? And wouldn't the heavy current overload the lighter socket?

Thank you.

Good lord.

Battery memory saver leads NOT jump starting leads.

They are used when changing a car battery. Saves you losing the radio code etc.

So that's what they are. Thanks for clearing that up!
