Liber-T placement on windscreen

My Liber-T tag arrived today and the instructions say to attach to the dark area around the rear veiw mirror. My screen on my TVR has no dark area so can I just fix it next to the mirror and be sure that it will function correctly? Any advice appreciated.

Yes, it will be fine by the mirror. Works well on my old MG.

Mine's not even attached, just hold it up to the top of the screen when approaching a peage.

^^^ yep we just did this, it works, but we find you have to drive right up to the barrier for it to work properly.

Thank you to every one who answered. I didn't want to draw up to a barrier with a long queue only to find that it wouldn't work. Thanks once again.
