Where can I learn about electrics?

I've got a classic 1973 Citroen and want to update the audio and instrument lighting. I know nothing about electrics. For example I've just bought an aux power socket but don't know how to take a power feed for it. Can anyone point me in the right direction to a website that will teach me the basics.
