I'm looking for a GPS tracker for a classic car.

I've been using the Vodafone Curve system for a couple of years. It's served my needs well and the subscription at £2/month has been insignificant but they're discontinuing the services at the end of July.

Family members all use the car so if anyone wants it, they just log into the Vodafone app and can see who has it.

I've seen lots of cheap GPS systems on Amazon but would rather get one which someone from PH has experience of rather than trusting Amazon reviews.

Can anyone suggest one they're using?

Those air tag type devices only work if someone nearby has a phone on them, absolutely no use if you car ends up somewhere remote.
£19.99 for a Tru Track magnetic tracker, brilliant little things, I have a few.

I recommend and have a GPS Bob tracker, I've got the 5 year no subscription, 4G version.

Simple to install, does what it should, can't fault it. You can track your vehicle by a phone app.

It's the £4.72 a month I object to, I need a load of them for stock vehicles so it adds up

Like most I don't need full tracking. I just need to know where it is if it gets stolen

A mate paid a fair bit for a tracker for a lorry.
The thieves left the tracker behind when they took the lorry.

Ball! I guess you gotta hide it if you can?

I gave heard its quite common to nick a car, and then park it up somewhere an wait for a while to see it if get tracked or not.

But then I have also heard a lot of cars (all be it maybe not classics?) are stolen to order, to match the details of exported cars.
The stolen cars are then given the ID of the exported car, allowing them to be used in the UK under the appropriated clean id.

Who knows?

£4.72/month, £56/year, £283 for five years which is then around the same cost as the £200 5 year tracker from GPSbob mentioned above.
GPSbob also appears to do a subscription on based offering from £3.99 per month. Fitting is and extra £75.

I guess you dont get something for nothing, and both the device and support network cost money somehow.

If you want a Thatchem approved tracker, then costs are greater again.

You can get a GPS phone for less and without a monthly cost

Yes, but only as a loss leader on the assumption most will then use the phone and generate a cost.

Same way you can get a printer scanner cheaper than the same spec scanner.

We have fitted TruTrak ones to our vehicles. Easy to fit and hide if necessary.

App on your phone, live tracking & 24/48 hr replay if needed...

Would highly recommend smile
