Nextbase dashcam: editing footage

Hi all,

Has anyone got any suggestions for a programme to edit/view nextbase dashcam footage
apart from nextbase's own player (which I find can be a pain in the ass to use), I've tried VLC but
it doesn't work, just looking for a simple basic programme that you could drag n drop the file into
and it allows you to view the footage & possibly basic editing ie mainly shortening the clip length
