Hi, I have a 2014 Polo SE with a factory navigation unit. I would like to keep this in place and retrofit apple carplay as I find most aftermarket systems to be tacky.

Does anyone have any experience with this Bavarian Automotive system?

Specifically which system do you have?

Some of the later OEM ones can be coded to add carplay and android auto.

How would I check? It is a 64 plate post-facelift with an in-built navigation system and something called mirror link.

There's more work to be done to identify the exact unit, but there's a fair chance that will be capable of Android Auto and Carplay activation without any additional devices.

If the above is wildly intimidating, get on Facebook and find a VW coder\retrofitter to discuss with.

If you can’t get the existing HU coded then I’d cut uk resellers out of the loop and buy the conversion box direct from AliExpress. Same kit, far cheaper. Warranty would obviously be an issue but it’s so much cheaper to buy direct that unless you’re very unlucky it works.
