Hello, all,

I have a BMW E90 LCI with the Professional head unit - no idrive. The CD player has stopped working, so I've decided to look at changing things.

My car has no Bluetooth module, or any wiring / amps in the boot, so it really is the most basic E90 media set-up.

I would like to have Bluetooth and streaming / handsfree options (Spotify etc.). I currently use a plug-in Bluetooth device but would like to have a more integrated set-up.

I like the thought of a single DIN head unit, but am not keen on available fascias - quite a lot of blank plastic around the unit. Double DIN head units are another option I've explored, but the climate unit relocation kits often look out of place or not as good a fit as OEM. Neither are complete deal breakers, but I would like to know about any other options I might have.

Any advice or options are welcome.

I believe you could retrofit the combox, this will allow you to do bluetooth phone calls as well as bluetooth music streaming. I think some extra wiring would be needed from the front of the car to the boot.

Have a look into BlueMusic, not sure what they offer for the E9* range, but it's worked a treat in my Z4. OEM stereo with BT music and good quality to boot. You can get ones that have a mic too, so can use your phone via BT, I don't want calls when driving so avoided it hehe
