Hi I have a pioneer avh-5200DAB head unit which has an external antenna used for dab and fm radio . I have just installed a pioneer avic-f-160-2 nav unit which has a tmc antenna . It’s struggling to get a signal for the nav unit traffic alerts due to location of its antenna … can’t get somewhere to hide it so was considering using the radios external aerial . Can I use the vehicles external aerial for both devices ? And if is there a two into one aerial socket splitter I can use ?

Can you get the Nav unit to use a Bluetooth or wired connection to your phone? Likely to be more granular/current.

What's the source for the TMC data - over FM? In theory a splitter should work.

Yes it’s on fm frequency - it shows it’s scanning but not picking anything up . I went on a 40mile test run and it didn’t pick anything up when I drove into roadworks and congestion

Is there an option in a menu to chose what FM station your unit uses to receive TMC data?
