Android Auto issue

Just got back from a short holiday and my Android Auto is being carp.

Never had a connection issue previously, I use a wireless dongle to connect (having previously used wired).

Issue is present on both wired and wireless connection.

I get the below message on the car screen but zero instructions on the phone, the AA app on phone just takes me to connection guide, as well as getting a notification on phone that AA is connected but it won't show on car unit.

I've cleared cache on AA, nothing changes.

Phone is a Pixel 8, OS is up to date.

Any bright ideas to get it working again?

Restart your phone, make sure no VPNs are on. Factory reset the headunit.

Recently updated AA ?

Try uninstalling it and downloading again. That's fixed a few issues for me over the years.
