So I'm looking for an ODB2 reader with the ability to clear service lights and read codes but i want it to work on everything rather than be tied to one brand or manufacturer.

Its primary uses will be reading EML codes, resetting them and also resetting service lights on some of my older self serviced vehicles.

I don't want to go mad with the budget on this but I know that £50 -£100 wont get me what I'm after.

If you want to stick another £50 on top then i recommended the Topdon Artidiag 500 model and onwards.
Diagnosed and reset a few things on different cars which even my dongle type reader and app was unable to find.
The bonus was that you get lifetime free updates whereas other models were charging for updates.

Not sure about motorbikes though.

Any cheapo £5 bluetooth OBD reader along with a phone app like Torque could probably do the job of reading / resetting basic codes or resetting service lights. If you're after something that can do bi-derectional control and full system diagnostics then I'd go after something Autel based. I have an Otofix D1 lite that can do just about anything the dealerships can. You can get it for about £200 (maybe a bit more or less - the price fluctuates).

I've been very pleased with the iCarsoft that I bought several years ago so would recommend that. I've used it on many difference car's for various things from basic code reading to resetting service lights, BMS updates etc.

I think it's the V2 multi brand.
