Meta Trak tracker - a moan

Last June I had a Meta Trak tracker installed. Renewal is due and Meta Trak have notified me that as the system was installed before July 2025 it will no longer work in Switzerland due to the 2G switch off. (Switzerland's OFCOM says the Swiss 2G networks have actually been switched off some years ago. https://www.bakom.admin.ch/en/3g-and-2g-shutdown Yet my trip there last Sept is fully mapped within the app.)
I spoke to MetaTrak and they basically don't give a fig that they sold systems in the last year that theoretically shouldn't have worked at all in various European countries that have already switched off their 2G networks and will be pretty much dead in a few years in all of Europe. 4G networks have been around for over 10 years and are predicted to be around for at least another 20 years
The installer was apologetic and rang MetaTrak on my behalf and negotiated a new unit that will use the old fobs. Just under £300 plus my making a 5 hour round trip to get it fitted.
I fully get that technology becomes obsolete. But that someone sells obsolete technology without saying anything is pretty crap, IMHO.
