I've got the Tom Tom One and a Sony Ericsson k750i on Vodafone PAYG.

The Tom Tom can see the phone via bluetooth but it can't get the wireless connection to work. The trouble is there's no information about why it's not working so I've no idea how to fix it. Can anyone tell me how to go about working out where it's failing? Cheers

Have you paired the phone with TomTom, I don't know your phone so don't know how to do it, have a look through the manual, or here www.pocketgpsworld.com

No help I know:

But, I connect to gprs via TomTom 700 & nokia 6310i. I also have a K750i, which I can pair up & use for voice, but cannot connect to gprs. If you find the solution let us know!!

(I assume you've bought a data bundle?)

Errm, not sure. The blokey in the Vodafone shop looked at my phone and said it was setup for GPRS. The web browser in the phone seems to work.

strange one. My company 6310i and also my new 6280 both work with my TTOne without any problem. My old 6310i wouldnt work but that was because my PAYG tarrif did not include data.
Occasionally though if TT tries to connect or I try to make a call when the GPRS connection is active, I get a "network Busy" warning, or the TT throws an error sayign it cannot connect to the phone.

The next update though goes through fine.

It does, but only for data, not voice

For all those having problems getting an internet connection with their TomTom devices. I've spent several hours sorting this and have eventually succeded. The information on the TomTom site is not accurate. Below are instructions specifically for those with a Vodafone contract and a SE K800i though they should be straightforward to adapt for other phones.

Preliminaries:

- This assumes you are on a Vodafone contract
- Pair your phone and the TomTom One via Bluetooth

- Navigate to the following on your phone:
Settings|Connectivity|Data Communications|Data Accounts|Vodafone Live GPRS

- Select ‘Vodafone Live GPRS’ and then ‘More,’ then select ‘Account Info’ and note the number against ‘External ID.’ In my case this is ‘3’ so I’ll use this from this point on.

Setting Up Your TomTom One:

- Now from your TomTom One select ‘Connect to your phone.’ There is currently no option to select the K800i so select ‘Other’ when asked for your phone model.

- Select ‘Yes ‘ when asked so set up your connection manually. Use the following settings:

Access Point Name: internet (this is apparently pp.vodafone.co.uk for those on PAYG)
User Name: web
Password: web
IP Address: Automatic
DNS Server: Automatic
Dial: *99***3#
Login: at+cgdcont=3,"ip","internet","",0,0

***The number ‘3’ in these strings refers to the External ID number on your phone.***

I hope this helps.

Regards

I have a similar problem, but I have the Swedish operator 3 which only deliver 3G and no GPRS. I have tried to connect my TomTom GO 730 to the bluetootch and the headset and send SMS function are working as they should, but not the internet connection. The phone flashes when the TomTom tries to connect and the "Connecting" message is displayed in the Sony Ericsson K810i window but no connection is done, just an error telling me that it could not configure a connection.

Is a problem about Sony-Ericsson phones:

1.http://www.tomtom.com/support/solution.php?GID=1&PID=2027&SID=0&CID=217-221&Language=1&FID=3630
DO NOT WORKED FOR ME.

2.http://www.tomtom.com/support/solution.php?GID=1&PID=2027&SID=0&CID=217-221&Language=1&FID=3326
DO NOT WORKED FOR ME.

Try to do this. It worked for my W660i and my Go 530 finally!!!

1.Download latest settings for your cell from (if avaible):

http://www.three.co.uk/

2.Download WAP GPRS settings from:

http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/phones/det...

After 2 days seeking for information today my TomTom Traffic works after completing step 2!!!

Sorry for my poor english!!!

I had a similar problem with my K810i on T-mobile. It worked at first then stopped wworking. In the end I kept trying to automatically connect, and eventually it asked me to connect manually, but I just kept selecting the defaults and it's worked fine ever since! confused

Anyway, now I've just got a Sony C902 which I've not even tried to connect to my original Tomtom one, but my mate had no trouble using his C902 with his Tomtom 520, so I may be ok.
