SWMBO is looking to buy a Sat-Nav system (must have speed cameras in it as well) and I think we have narrowed it down to either a Road Angel Navigator 700 or a Tom Tom One Europe.

Anybody own either, and got any recommendations they'd like to make, avoid, buy, etc.

TIA

Ive had an RA Nav (the original one) for 18 months or so, and after updating the firmware with the current version I havent had a problem with it. Have the Euro map and has proved excellent on 3 trips to Eurodisney, one to Le Mans last year and a trip to the Nuburgring/Dusseldorf 3 weeks ago.

2 of my brothers have Tom Toms (510 and 910) and both had to have their first units replaced. My sister has a basic Tom Tom One and hasnt had a problem. I had to sort out the camera database on my sister's unit and found it a real PITA to get the database uploaded (well, compared to the simple plug and go of the RA) and iirc the Tom Tom camera locations are not directional, as the RA (and some others) are.

The Tom Toms are much bigger physically than the RA Nav (which will fit in your shirt/coat pocket), but they are also (havent checked prices recently) cheaper than the RA (which also has a monthly subscription for camera location updates)

Pays your money, takes your chance

I borrowed my mothers Tom Tom 910 and hated it - too big and too many functions!
I have a garmin i3 without euro maps.
BUT I would say dont get either the Tom Tom or the RA , go for this one !!!

Just got one for my father in law. It is amazing value and really excellent. Has the POIs for cameras with it for free.

Tom Tom One and Tom Tom Go are very different beastie's... The One is very flat compared to the Go's, and looks less, well, 'Fisher Price My First Sat Nav' than the Go.
