Need a UK streets only device - no PDA functionality required. Large screen / good sound level (do any of them connect to an iTrip so I can get the voice directions through the car's audio?). What are PHers buying at the moment - any strong pros/cons?

TomTom used around here. Always seems to get you from A to B, we've slapped on a 3rd party camera location jobbie and nobody's got points yet

Just a thought - if you have a symbian OS phone, then you can download Wayfinder Earth (free download) and activate it to use your bluetooth GPS for (IIRC) 19 euros.

Voila instant satnav (albeit with no talking) but for less than £15.

Job done & works great on my previous N70 & current N73.

You can get TomTom for the N73, too... Got it running on my N70 and can't complain at all.

How would I do that? Imagine I'm and idiot and you're close.

OK, I had TomToim running on my N70 - unfortunately the N73 runs a slightly different flavour of Symbian to the N70, (Series 60 v4 to Seris 60 v3) so the version of TomTom that I had for the N70 won't run on an N73, hence my search for Wayfinder Earth.

Please bear in mind that Wayfinder works really well, but you download the maps over GPRS / 3G for each route.

I'm on T-Mobile web'n'walk so it's not an issue for me, but check your data rates before using it in anger...

Or cheaper on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TOMTOM-NAVIGATO

I'm sure there are illegal copies of it floating around on the 'Net. But we won't discuss those...

How does this get a GPS(?) signal, does the phone have a receiver built in (if so how much does it cost to use this)? Or do you need a standalone GPS receiver?

The N73 needs a separate bluetooth GPS receiver, as it doesn't have one built in.

The only Nokia with GPS built in is the N95.

TomTom worked really well on my N70 - loud & clear in the car and clear maps on screen.

I don't use it enough to warrant the cost of TomTom now, hence my low cosst option of Wayfinder Earth (the main difference is that is doesn't talk to you as standard, it shows turn by turn map directions instead!)
