'Imitation' software for Garmin...any feedback?

I was looking for maps of France for my Garmin i3 and found this on fleabay.
From the description it would appear not be genuine Garmin software, but at a 3rd of the price, could be worth having. Has anyone tried this or something similar? Worth buying or leave well alone?

Could be cool - maybe someone found a way of copying the file. Not sure how it would react with the Garmin system though - you'd have to try also you'd need to check the age of the data. Find a cheap copy of Metroguide (or you might find a copy on a Torrent site 
) - Metroguide not normally a routable map from within a unit but can be made routable by using a free programme called MetroWizzz. Follow wizard within metrowizz and save and transfer to a blank microSD - I have used a 1GB and have UK, France, Germany and Belgium pretty much all covered on one card. Chances are this is what the guy on ebay is doing anyway.

I bought one of the copies on fleabay and used it in France at the weekend. Worked a treat, so a bit of a bargain really.
AMG Merc, can't see anything similar on fleabay for the Nuvi 600. You could always drop one of the i3/Nuvi c310/320/510 sellers a line to see if they can help with the 600.
