The story (short verion)

I brought a Tomtom 510 go from Dixon’s and after 3 months it broke. Want back to dixon’s who gave me a number to call to get it sorted. Phone sent Tomtom of and after 5 days got a another one with replaced mother board. This wouldn’t charge… great. Sent this back and got a third one, won’t charge either.

When I went to Dixon’s they gave me the number and said I had to deal through tomtom. Is this right, can I not go back and ask for my money back?

p.s. don’t ever by a tomtom as the service I have received is shocking.

It's down to Dixons to sort your problems out not Tom Tom (although they would ultimately have to reimburse Dixons), they sold you the unit and are responsible under the Sale of Goods Act. They are fobbing you off by saying you have to contact Tom Tom direct, you are doing their donkey work for them.

IIRC, if a fault develops with 6 months of purchase the burden of proof is with the retailer to prove that the fault was not there when you bought the unit.

I think the real message is don't buy anything from Dixons.
