If any gurus know the answers to these two questions on the Mio 269+ I would be grateful.

1. I tried downloading speed camera data to this unit when I first bought it, but gave up after several hours trying. Does anyone know a supplier who can provide a data base on the memory card, and is it easy to import like this ?

2. The suction mount on this unit is very poor and has always transmitted way too much vibration. Having searched the web for other mounts that would enable me to do a neater fixed install, or just an improved screen mounting, I have found nothing that seems to work well enough. Any users found anything better than the standard mount ?

Thanks in advance.

There is a company that provide speed camera data for the 269+ and others in the MIO range, but it is not free - suggest you google for it. Think it is a Belgium company.

I have a 269, which like your 269+ has full Europe maps on its hard disk. The latest version 3 of the mapping software and maps is now only available on a 1GB SD card and is not installable on the hard disk. So I may as well have saved some money as that would turn my 269 into a 268 (no hard disk and was almost £100 cheaper). Currently, with v2 of the software I keep the SD slot loaded with a 1GB card full of tunes for use with the built-in music player software. Does anyone know if there is a hack to allow v3 to be installed on the hard disk?

I think you should be able if your break out to the Windows O/S. I have the 268+ and I followed all the instructions I could find to crack so I could use it fully as a pocket pc, and I couldn't get anywhere with this model. Has anyone else had any success?

I tried this with my 269 but none of the methods that I tried actually worked.
