We're going to France in a couple of weeks and I'd like to be able to use my TomTom Go to find our way around. The maps are about £40 on TomTom's website, is there a cheaper way of getting them ? Can I hire a satnav with the maps installed cheaper ? I'm unlikely to need them again for a few years and it's a lot of money for one trip. Thanks in advance.

No idea, but I would have thought £40 on top of what the overal cost of the trip was going to cost was a little immaterial. Good luck anyway, maybe someone can let you borrow his. Incidently, you can download bits of the map, I think, I downloaded a map of Rome for £5 for my tom tom, it was invaluable in finding the Ibis hotel on the perimeter road around Rome, bit like trying to find an Ibis off the M25 for a visitor to UK.

Pay the £40. They cost £85 in 2005.
