Hi

Is there anyone here with experience of both the Road Angel and Cyclops camera databases?

I'm wondering how the Garmin units that use the Cyclops database compare with the Road Angel device that I've already got. I want to replace the camera detector with a Sat Nav that does the same thing but don't want to compromise on the detector part. I had some bad experiences of the TomTom database so have ruled those units out and I've heard bad things but the navigation aspect of the Road Angel Navigator range.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Matt.

I'm "lucky" enough to live surrounded by 4 mobile camera sites, the local force use mini gatsos on tripods (radar) but decided to spend a fortune of taxpayers money digging up the road to put the strips in and boxes for the DS2 (never seen one tho).

I've been able to try various makes of speedcamera and only the origin database had these in already. I've also tried road angels, road pilots and snoopers none of which had them in and despite me adding them several times they still have not been included in the database. I can understand comments elsewhere re some companies only putting them in once verified but all these sites have the posts and strips in the road and in the the local scamera van website!

I wonder if this is common around the country?

OOI, when did you compare the Road Angel database? They only added the mobile sites last year from what I have been told. My neighbour / drinking buddy has an RA2, I have a new Garmin nuvi that is using the Cyclops database. There are four speedmaster sensor sites on my way to and from work (2 on the way there, 2 on the way home) two of them (almost opposite each other near as dam* it and on opposite sides of the road and are only a couple of hundred yards from my house) have never alerted and they have been there for 3+ years, the other two have been removed (again only 100 yards apart and on opposite sides of the road) over 9 months ago when the road was resurfaced and they are still alerting despite numerous updates. I know they are not coming back as it was in the local press. The RA2 alerts to the ones down the road that are still and not to the ones that are gone, I just called him to ask. (Couldn't be bothered to walk round and ask him, and it's free in the evenings)
