I just bought a Tomtom 520 a few days ago, and thought I'd share some thoughts I have on it.

I got it for £300 from Halfords (impulse buy.. please don't make me feel bad by telling me how much cheaper I could have got it!). It's a nice looking unit, very thin with a nice large display. I used to have a Go-910 (is that what it's called?), and the first thing I noticed was the inbuilt FM transmitter. This means I can play mp3s through the stereo without hardwiring the tomtom in. The mp3 is muted to read out directions and alerts, which is awesome. Bad thing is it only comes with 512Mb flash memory, but I upgraded to a 2G SD card easily enough.

It only comes with one mount, and it's a pretty poor windscreen sucker mount. Nothing like the solid feel of the 910 sucker mount, but it's adequate. I'm going to get a Brodit mount anyway, and I imagine most people go their own route with the mounting. Anyone have any views on the brodit mount? It looks pretty cool.

It also has the ability to let you record your own voices for directions, which could be fun. It's very similar, functionality wise, as the 910. It had an i-pod connection also, I think. Overall, it looks better than the 910 and has a few improved features. Memory could be better, but I'm over the moon with it. Anyone else got one?
