Discussion
Hi, am looking for a new unit and I'd appreciate thoughts. I've laid out my requirements below:
Important (in no particular order)
Widescreen layout
Quality mapping & clarity
Good manufacturer support (upgrades etc if available)
TMC
User configurable screen
Bluetooth phone connectivity
Quality POI support
"No route planned" functionality (sometimes drive without a real route but do want camera alerts)
Not fussed
Anything other than UK mapping
Camera database (can get for myself from GPS site)
GPRS updating a la RA 9000 (seems big money for the small convenience)
MP3
I'm looking at the Nuvi 610T which I think fits the bill at c£210ish. Do you agree and anything else I should be considering?
Thanks in advance
John

Very happy with my 660 and think it ticks all your boxes. Main weakness is not being able to create or transfer a chosen route in advance - you don't mention this feature at all.
I suspect the latest TT range has overtaken Garmin in terms of features at the moment, but it may not be reliable yet.

Suspect I'm being thick, but what exactly do you mean by "create or transfer a chosen route in advance"
...and a super-daft one while I'm on a roll. TMC - is it free or a subscription service - and if the latter, how much is it.
Thanks Again
John
Nuvis at the moment only accept one waypoint, which is a pain if you want your route to visit more than one place en route to your final destination.
If you plan your route in advance, you have to enter it into a Nuvi one waypoint at a time which, as far as I am concerned, is the biggest minus point the Nuvi has.
