? Sat Nav USA to UK convertion

I have just purchased a NEXTAR sat nav system from Florida which I was assured would work in the UK. Does anyone know how to download the data for UK roads and what card I need to buy? (No card received with it). Has anyone else got one of these? Hope I was not ripped off. I have e mailed the company and am awaiting a reply but it is taking a while.confused

They were selling this brand in ASDA earlier this year.

Also be careful that the Nav system itself is programmed to look for the correct satellites - this information is held in software - frequently flash software - and may or may not be changeable - check this before ordering and paying for maps.
I bought a Pioneer Unit from US via Ebay and compatibility issues led to me selling it back to the USA - at a slight loss I may add!!
