TomTom XL UK - crashes, reboots, won't find GPS

Hi all,

Bought a ONE XL UK a couple of weeks ago, which has been temperamental every since. Only used it twice and given up both times with it locking up, rebooting and not finding any GPS signal. Sometimes I can't even turn it off when it crashes.

I have tried taking the SD card out and back in, resetting it, restoring it to factory defaults... but it is still being very strange.

My problem is I can't find the effing receipt from when I exchanged a ONE V3, that I was missold on its features, for the XL even though I religiously keep receipts. I'm assuming Currys won't exchange (but I will try going in there as they should have records of the first exchange) so thought I'd ask on here if anyone had similar problems.

Have you tried an update by pluging it in to the computer, there may be a software update that cures the problem.

I have checked this - there appear to be no firmware updates for TomTom products.

I have had the same problem aswell my GPS was broken and has been sent back for repair
You can check your by doing this by
1)tapping where the bars show the strength for the satellites, you will get up a page with GPS status.
2) On the top right on the screen you will see a yellow and blackcircle.
3) If the circle is not moving then the GPS is broken and the sat nav will have to be sent off to be fixed. If it is moving then it is something else.

You send it back through contacting customer support.

Hi - I actually took the TomTom back to the shop where it just crashed several times and they exchanged it. I now have a fully working TomTom at last!
