Sat Nav FM Transmitters
Discussion
I've got a Gramin 660FM, it works really well, quality is pretty good, suppose it will vary depending on the location of your car ariel, but mine is on the roof at the rear. But to be honest I've now hooked mine upto the MP3 input on the cars head unit, so I don't use the FM facility.
I use my TomTom520 with FM transmission every day. Beats CDs, and gives me a much bigger range of tunes.
I'm a bit of a purist/geek with things like this, and the only thing that annoys me is that the radio is not as loud as a CD. Also, silence between songs gives a low radio static type noise. Apart from that, FM transmission is excellent, and I've only had to change the frequency once when travelling far outwith my "home" area.
I'd love a way to hardwire the TomTom into my Z4 stereo, but previous investigations into that option left many ICE installers scratching their head and muttering. I'd still love to do it, so if anyone finds out how, let me know plz
