sat nav fox trot
Discussion
Hullo there,
Just read the sat nav/ map discussion... personally I use both, and at times needed to. eg, when the motorways around Milan were blocked one winters eve and sat nav kept sending me on a loop of blocked motorways... needed a map to find a way out of that particular maze, and when in Napoli tom tom is pretty confused/useless, maps are terrible, and locals are incomprehensible/out of it - needed a friendly/amused cop then. Motorways around Brussels faze it a bit too. It doesn't work at all in city financial centres -too much data buzzing through the ether I expect, the same for tunnels.... I always laugh when exiting from swiss tunnels and tom tom immediately tells me to do a u-turn. Ha ha... on a 3 lane motorway? Oh... OK.
For finding adresses/businesses generally -excellent.
but the other use for my tom tom which may not have occured to users, is that when on foot you can use it in your pocket to find restaurants, museums, cafes etc.... admittedly havind a ladies voice giving you directions from your pocket is either amusing or worrying to passers by, but what the hell. You're never alone with tom tom.
Cheers.
