Sat-Navs and Speed Camera Detectors
Discussion
Basically i Passed my test in December, am getting my car next week and basically I want to be able to know where I am and where I am going. However, I also want to protect myself and my license from the law with reassurance from a detector which will cover GATSOS to mobile ones. As you can work out, I'm new to this world of Sat Navs etc. Also could you give me prices, and subscription fees for the basic ones that do the job?
ETA: Im looking for mainly a speed camera detector more than a SAT-NAV
I am a student
Thanks, Dave

-Or a Tom Tom 720Go that is widescreen, has bluetooth, text to speech, europe maps, mp3 etc for around £160, as they have come right down recently (+the £19 for pocketGPSworld speed camera database as has already been recommended - more accurate than the std Garmin or Tom Tom databases + cheaper too).
My two pence. I run a pogodrive. Costs 250 and £50 per year subscription iirc. I tried a road angel for a day whilst my old origin b2 which i replaced with the pogo was in for repair and hated it. False alerts everywhere etc. The updates on pogo are afaik done daily and its recommended that you update every 24-48hrs. In theory this means you should have any new cameras on the units database every 48hrs. It has a motorway function which is a tap onscreen and you wont get false alerts for cameras on roads parralell to the motorway which is something quite a few of the others dont have yet again as far as i know. So far i have done 130000 miles and no tickets yet.
Your best bet though would be to speak to MADT350 who deals with all these devices.
